Busy Period for IED
IED have encountered a whirlwind start to the new year. A visit to the MoDs Whitehall building at the request of the country’s most senior Reserve Forces rank was an opportunity to provide a presentation on IEDs background and service provision. Supporting the armed forces community continues to be an extremely important part of our DNA and we look forward to strengthening that bond between Regular, Reserve and Veterans alike.
Recent visitors to our offices included Graeme Dey MSP and Kirstene Hair MP and both showed a real interest in the work that we carry out. We now look forward to getting involved in a employers network initiative which is being set up by the Scottish Government.
Business meetings have taken place this week with an Oil & Gas major as well as Senior Management from the rail industry and both were extremely productive.
The postive start to the year was reinforced when we have been actively encouraged to pursue the ‘Gold Award’ through the Armed Forces Employers Recognition Scheme. It was an honour to receive the Silver Award at Edinburgh Castle and this truly would be an incredible achievement if we can be successful.
