I first met Ian and Paul from IED Training when they delivered a presentation at a meeting of the British Association of Shooting and Conservation (BASC) in March 2018. I was very interested in what they had to say and felt that they identified with the profession I work with.
I was keen for the IED team to develop a course which tackled some of the issues affecting those working in both the game-keeping profession and the shooting community, including mental health, communication, and leadership skills for the people we support.
As a result, Ian developed the STAG training course, a bespoke half-day programme aimed at gamekeepers, stalkers, ghillies and those with management responsibilities.
He and his team have since delivered the course to a number of gamekeepers on estates throughout the UK and the response has been excellent, with delegates commenting that they left the sessions feeling ‘buoyed up’ and ‘better equipped to deal with situations’. This has been the best possible outcome and I view their support as invaluable.
